Made to Work
The Ursus 45 is a knife that hits the sweet spot for outdoorsmen in several ways. It is a favorite camp knife of mine, adept at wood processing and fire making tasks yet thin enough behind the edge to be surprisingly slicey in the camp kitchen. Fit & finish are excellent, the kydex sheath is excellent, and if you are looking for a slightly lower profile carry option, the leather belt sheaths for the Ursus are excellent too. I consider myself and avid outdoorsmen and I am lucky enough to have a pretty decent collection of outdoor knives. The Ursus 45 is an exceptional example of form meeting function. It's an outstanding tool.

Ursus 45 Magnacut
This is likely the best value magnacut knife on the market. If your goal is for a knife to retain its edge in challenging camping situations, this is an excellent choice. It is scary sharp from the factory. I used some Wenol red then blue to polish the blade. Then I soaked the handle and screw holes in Ballistol. The next step was to chop up onions and peppers for the first chili of the season. This is going to be a great all round knife. I like that the top of the blade is squared off for flint strikes. Although I have seen magnacut being pounded in to angle iron and used to cleave a grade 7 bolt in half (but not grade 8), I’m not sure I’ll be doing much of this. If you routinely put your knife in a vice and try to see how far it bends using a pipe wrench, I don’t think this is the right knife for you. The sheath is a great design, so I don’t need to spend more to fix a lame sheath design.

Ursus 45
Wow! I've been hunting and fishing most of my life and I'm 61 yrs old now. This knife has any other top and or common brand beat by far! A great investment and a treasure to pass down to my grandkids.

Ursus 45
I picked up a special edition Ursus 45 made with black cerakote 3V steel, black micarta handles, and black hardware. This is my second WRK (the other being the Ursus Cub) and both are just about a perfect fusion of form with function.

The knife is beautifully presented in a wood box. This knife and sheath are a work of art.

Ursus 45
The most well thought out back country knife we've handled. The 90° edges on the spine (except for on the handle- bonus point) are sharp for making quick tinder bundles and a perfect strike point for a ferro rod. The craftsmanship and value in this exceedingly sharp package is just outstanding.

Ursus 45
After buying and selling a fair few knives trying to find the knife to rule all I happened across white river knives. The ursus 45 is essentially perfect. The S35VN was immaculate and razor sharp, and has been maintained shaving sharp with a fine ceramic and a strop despite being used to craft over 40 fires, whittle several spoons, and beat on for yard work. The sheath is incredible quality. I would carry this knife every day if I didn't get strange looks in public. Simply a purpose built tool that will last several lifetimes and well worth the price, especially compared to some other manufacturers. So good I had to order an ursus cub for a bit more of a discreet carry for day to day, but the ursus 45 will be with me on every outdoor adventure.

Workhorse Extraordinaire
I had been searching for a knife that could do it all. The day the Ursus 45 arrived, my search ended. Everything about this knife fits the bill. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth every penny? Absolutely. This is a knife that could be handed down to your kids. Do yourself a favor and take the plunge. You won't regret it.

Ursus 45
Can not explain how impressed with this product I am. Everything claims to be arrived on time and before I opened the box I knew it would be. Just the care that was taken on the tape of the box told me this was going to be a well made product! Been looking for the “bushcrcat” knife I would carry bought several now and this is the one!!

Ursus 45
Fit and a finish is wonderful. Feels solid and well balanced. The handle grips just right. The sheath is a nice positive snug fit and locks the knife in place but still provides easy removal. Can't be more happy with this purchase.

Impressive
This knife is so very capable around camp and while traveling through he wilderness. Strong and stout are works that come to mind. Useful for firecraft, camp craft, anything you could need such a tool for, this knife will deliver and remain in good condition whatever abuse you heap upon it.

My go to knife
I am building a cabin in the Mark Twain national Forest. This knife has turned into my go to knife. I use it all day every day from being a chisel to carving notches in the logs digging slivers out whatever I put in front of it this knife works amazing. And it holds an edge. I love this knife. I have the Kydex sheath and the leather sheath. I prefer the leather but I have cut through the sheath a few times putting it away.

Knife
The knife is amazing I have only recently bought but have already field-tested it and am surprised that it's not much more popular with bushcrafters.

URSUS 45
I feel like this knife is the progeny of the American flag @#$%&?! an Abrams tank. Instant classic workhorse for me, wether it’s batoning, (minor ) chopping, whittling, or wearing around the house to get my sweet lady in the mood ( ok l, maybe not that last part ) This a strong, durable, handsome knife that will treat you right. Love this knife, and would recommend it to anyone except my neighbor Frank, he sucks

Amazing comfort in hand
I have the Ursus 45 in 3V steel and black burlap micarta. I honestly can't say enough about how much I like this knife. It is easily the most comfortable knife in the hand that I own... And I have a lot of knives. I can make fire tinder and feather sticks all day long with this thing with no discomfort. The kydex sheath is perfect, and has excellent retention. The micarta looks amazing, but I love how it's finished with some texture and not slippery. The Ursus 45 is camp knife perfection in my opinion.
