I bought this knife as a gift for my 12 year old son. He has been bonkers about it since he opened it. The ferro rod has really excited him to get back to the woods and build some fires, and a shelter to keep out the zombies.

This is my second white river knife and I will be buying more for sure. I am a knife enthusiast, and I teach outdoor survival skills to teenagers. The thing I love about this knife is 1. It is super sharp and I love the Scandi grind. 2. The included Ferro rod, and the knife notch throw sparks like no other knife I’ve seen! It’s like the 4th of July! Seriously throws sparks with ease. 3. As an instructor of survival skills. I love the fact that it has the debit for using with a bow drill. I haven’t had it long enough to try that yet, and while having a feral rod, makes using a bow drill, a redundant and distant, third choice, as far as ease of making a fire:-) I loved the fact that I can use this knife to demonstrate that fire starting skill all with one knife. Super cool. In the knife just looks fantastic! Love everything about it.

I have now had a chance to use this knife quite a bit. It as a real performance blade. I have whittled a huge pile of wood chips, and it is a wood whittling machine. Sharpens easily. I intend to get another as backup. My favorite scandi blade. Even over my customs.
